Free Hit Counters

Hit counters are usually not free - but these are!  This page shows all the known easy-to-install free hit counters.  They are all remotely hosted since installing your own can be a bit complicated but check CGI-Resources for a good list of "host your own" counter scripts.

FastCounter/bCentral We know this is supposed to be a popular free counter but we can't get it to work. The site just kept returning errors after we filled out the lengthy forms.  If you get it to work please email us and let us know.  [Update for March 2004 - tried to login again creating a new username and password this time but the web site spat us back out again. We finally found the form to fill out if you were having problems.  So we filled it out, clicked submit and it died giving us a "Microsoft JScript runtime error '800a0046' Permission denied /eform/index.asp, line 21".]	None
